When to use Present Perfect?

Present perfect is a verb tense used to describe actions or events that have occurred at an unspecified time in the past, or that began in the past and continue into the present. Here are some common situations where you would use present perfect:

  1. To describe an action that started in the past and has continued up until now: "I have been working here for five years."

  2. To describe an action that happened at an unspecified time in the past: "I have visited Paris several times."

  3. To describe a past action with a result or consequence in the present: "I have lost my keys, so I can't drive my car."

  4. To describe an action that was completed recently: "I have just finished my homework."

  5. To describe an action that has relevance to the present: "I have studied Spanish, so I can speak it now."

In general, the present perfect is used to link the past with the present, and to describe how past actions or events have an impact on the present moment.
